Cuper Crescent allotments

I did have an allotment at Cuper Crescent, for 17 years. I gave it up 18 months ago. There was an overlap between growers who had allotments and the Show. There still is. Jack (my husband) retired and I thought that the allotment would do him good, but I was the driving force. I ended up as Secretary! Jack and I got the men organised, to be truthful. One of the Councillors was very much in favour and gave us timber for a building. I also managed to get £12,000 grant, it’s like a community room, with a flush toilet! It’s still there. The men built it.
