Text: Thousands headed to Huyton’s Court Hey Park for the annual Knowsley Flower Show. The show was opened by the Mayor of Knowsley, Edna Finneran, in the cobbled courtyard, before judging got underway for some of the best exhibits. As well as competition produce, the show offered food and craft stalls, music, and a gardener’s question time too. Knowsley’s cabinet member for public health and wellbeing, Eddie Connor, said “The show is the biggest of it’s kind in the North West. There are lots of great things to see and do, which has become a firm favourite for visitors of all ages”. The show’s main area, Gladstone Field, also featured a dog display, Halewood Community Choir, and falconry, as well as dance and panto. Plenty of flood was also on offer, including a hog roast, a pizza stand, and fresh produce from a farmer’s market.
