“A 5lb onion.”

Over the last 20 years and through involvement with the Knowsley Flower Show, my wide interests have developed into growing and showing prize vegetables, particularly onions. This includes a 5lb onion, shallots and 0.5lb onions. The competition is fierce. I have shown and entered competitions for virtually everything, cabbages, marrows, cauliflowers, apples, pears, figs, chrysanthemums, sweet peas, to name just a few. At one point I ran five greenhouses in my back garden and also owned an allotment in Whiston.
