A stand selling veg.

In the first few years of the Show, some of us from Bowring Park and Cuper Crescent took a stand to sell fruit and veg in aid of the Mayor’s Charity (see photograph from 2002). Then I got involved with the Show proper. It must have been George White (the first Show Manager) or Christine Yates (Show Secretary) who invited me to join the Show committee and get stuck in organising things. In the early 2000s, Tony Hill (Bowring Park Allotments) and I took on more and more. Don Sutcliffe got us involved. He was the Chairman at Whiston Show.
