Text: The biggest free flower show in the North West takes place in Merseyside this weekend – including a chance to change your life. Knowsley Flower Show will be held at Court Hey Park in Huyton, from 11am to 5pm on Sunday. Organisers said this years event will be bigger and better than ever this year and will celebrate both the Olympics and the Queens Diamond jubilee, The show will have a bigger floral marquee with more exhibits and a larger farmer’s market as well as a “change for life” area with tips on how to be healthier and more active and all the other usual attractions. There will also be more classes than ever, including several for children, a section for jams and chutneys and one for novices. Car parking on the Roby Road site is limited, but a free park and ride scheme will be operating from Huyton bus station, leaving every 15 minutes from 10.30am onwards. Alternatively parking will be available at Broadgreen station, a 10 minute walk away. Free shuttle buses will also run from Huyton town centre, Whiston village, Prescot bus station, Kirkby bus station and Raven Court Halewood. The event will be opened by Knowsley Mayor, Norman Hogg, and Tatton Park’s former head gardener, Sam Youd, who is also a judge and a panellist on Gardener’s Question Time at the show.
