How the Show started

This is how the Show first started, but you should talk to Tony about it. Tony Hill, Dave Almond, Dennis Martin and Billy Townley, who all had allotments at Bowring Park, went to an open day at Four Oaks, Cheshire, the plants wholesaler. There was a bit of a show, because of the open day. I think that they were inspired to think “we can do this too.” They were keen! That must have been in 1998. I think George White was the first Show manager.
